Celebrates 46 Years

On Sunday, March 30, 2008, Carl Pellonpaa hosted a dance at the Elks Lodge in Ishpming to celebrate 46 years of the"Finland Calling" television program. A huge crowd enjoyed the special afternoon. Music was provided by Wil Kilpela and Friends. There were numerous door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, and a grand prize of a DVD player which was won by a visitor from Finland. Some of Carl's family members helped out during the afternoon; granddaughter Kristen  Pellonpaa, son Carl, Jr., and wife Doris. Hamburgers, french fries, juusto, coffee, and many desserts were available throughout the afternoon. The usual chicken dance and the grand march were also part of the afternoon activities.
