Pro Vintage Racing At The Fairgrounds!

Ironwood - February 12, 2010

Pro Vintage Racing is coming to Ironwood!
The Pro-Vintage Racing Tour will be making its inaugural visit to the Gogebic County Fairgrounds on January 1, 2011.

Each year the event will take place on the first weekend of January. The first weekend of January falls on New Year’s Day in 2011.
Racing times are tentatively scheduled begin at 10:00.

The contract sealing the deal was signed this week by Tom Auvinen a member of the Gogebic County Fair Board and Trent Ellifson-President of Pro-Vintage Racing.
The event was the result of the work of Tom Auvinen, a owner Auvinen’s Service Center, The Gogebic Range Trail Authority and the White Thunder Riders.

Pro Vintage Racing, Inc. is a group of individuals dedicated to keeping vintage modified racing snowmobile on the track. The organization began in 1995, offering a variety of modified racing classes. PVR began racing at the world famous Eagle River Derby track. In 2007 the group decided to offer more races to its members.

There are classes for the beginner racers, juniors, to the pro drivers.

The races are run by volunteers, and all of the sponsor money goes back to the drivers for large payouts. The organization began with twelve original members and has grown to over two hundred and fifty, and is increasing each year.
