IRONWOOD - The City of Ironwood Commission met in special session last night, for the purpose of approving a grant. The grant is for a second phase of the water transmission line heading up Lake Road, towards the well field. While the grant will bring the transmission line close to a completion point it will fall slightly short, with about 1 mile remaining to the wells. We were told by the MDEQ representatives that the city’s transmission line is currently under an MEDQ consent order. The cost of the project is approximately $500,000. According to City Manager, Scott Erickson, the city does have the required $100,000 matching funds in the budget. |
