Celebrate The Pat |
|
| March 6th is going to be a big day at the Civic Center. The Civic Center Board finalized plans for two cool events that will take place on that date. The day will begin with an early afternoon fundraiser for victims services. That event will be a Broomball Tournament in which law Enforcement Officers and Area youth will face off on the ice at the Pat O’Donnell Civic Center which is located on the Gogebic College Campus in Ironwood. | |

The proceeds of the event will go to Victims Services. The adult players
participating in the Fundraiser at the Pat must wear Helmets and Elbow
padding. It is strongly recommended that knee pads also be worn. Broomball is an exciting game and we’re recommending that our readers get out and enjoy a fun packed day at the Pat. At the same time you can be helping a worthwhile cause. Broomball is the newest thing on Ice and has created a mania across the Northland. Michigan Tech in fact has a Broomball League. While covering the Ice Carnival we came across a couple of games being played right on campus. That same Saturday night, the Civic Center Board has opened the Pat for a night of open skating. This is being planned as a fun filled family affair. Local businesses are providing a disk jockey for the evening, plus a large array prizes. This could serve as great night out and a way to celebrate the mortgage free Pat. No excuses left for having nothing to do, join the fun at the Pat! |
