Lamb began by handing out fliers to members of the
commission relevant to ATV usage within the city. The snow hasn’t gone and
snowmobile season is not yet over and already the commissioner has begun
her assault on the working class citizens of ironwood. When watching the
video, notice that her remarks lead straight to speed limits and
enforcement. Not to how to improve the city’s tarnished image as the
anti-motorsport capital of the nation, and not to how to bring ATV tourism
dollars to Ironwood. This
second meeting in a row in which Lamb
has used Other Matters to ambush her opponents. Last time she used that
portion of the meeting, where items are not designated on the agenda, to
pass the phony Miner’s Park scam.
If Lamb is really interested in safety, why has she
continuously supported cutting the budget for Ironwood’s Law Enforcement?
Why did she not support our law enforcement officers in their salary
negotiation with the city? Why hasn’t she supported speed limits on the
streets where most citizens are at risk?
In the same light Lamb insisted that the downtown
streets be cleared of snowed for the sisufest, but sat silent the rest of
the winter when complaints about the streets flooded the city and the
media. If the streets need more maintenance why doesn’t she insist that
the city staff be brought back to 100% strength?
Why can Lamb spend $65,000 on a public restroom at
Longyear Park, but not put a Public Bathroom in Downtown where it’s needed
most? How can Lamb and her
unfriendly friends, use the first floor bathroom at the Carnegie and then
not allow taxpayers to use it. We didn’t realize that Carnegie endowed
that money for Lamb’s private use. Did
you?
