The Department Of Natural Resources began construction on the new
boat dock and access site. Construction began this week on what will
be an additional parking facility and dock.
The parking facility will accommodate 35 vehicles with trailers.
In addition, the project will include a 36 foot wide by 70 foot long
boat ramp, an ADA compliant vault toilet and a 5 foot by 30 foot
courtesy pier.
The launch will remain open throughout the construction period
however, users may experience periods of heavy congestion and
there may be times when the construction crews will require closing of
the ramp.
The $200,000 project is funded through the Michigan State
Waterways Fund, a restricted fund derived from boat registration fees
and a portion of the Michigan marine fuel tax.
