Bessemer - Wakefield  Blue  and Gold

Bessemer - February 22, 2009

Pictured above, Cubmaster Mary Jendrusena welcomes parents and guests to the Blue and Gold Banquet held this evening at St. Sebastian's Catholic Church in Bessemer. The Blue and Gold ceremony is the Cub's annual awards night. This evening there were thirteen Cubs from Bessemer Pack 337 and Wakefield Pack 300 that would be receiving badges.
The evening began with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by a  by the Tiger Scouts, There  was a skit by the Weblos.  The Cubs were divided into two groups. One group portrayed customers in a restaurant while the other group played the waiters. As everyone knows where there's a group being served in a restaurant, what can go wrong, will go wrong.

The indifferent waiters left the table leaving behind a most unhappy group of Cubs who were demanding their money back.

What are they serving from under the towel you ask?  Don't say you could eat a horse to these scouts unless you literally mean it!

After the skit, Fr. Joy J. Adimakkeel  gave the Invocation.
Since you never keep a large group of boys hungry for too long, Dinner was served  immediately following the Invocation. Pizza and Dessert, Cub Scout food for sure!
Boy Scout Scoutmaster, Bruce Jendrusina showed the audience a DVD of the scouts trip to Alaska this past July. After the slide show Bruce spoke about the trip and showed the audience articles he brought back on the trip.

The Cub Scout Prayer

0' Lord, that I will do my best
I come to Thee in prayer.
Help me to help others every day
And teach me to be fair,

To honor home and family
And obey the Cub Scout ways too.
This I ask that I may be
A loyal Cub Scout true.
Amen
