Twin Lakes Fourth of July  Boat Parade
Story and photos by Linda Graham
Twin Lakes  - July 4, 2009

While spectators lined up around the lake, boaters were preparing their boats for the annual boat parade. Boat owners decorate their boats with lights and other decorative items in the fourth of July theme.

At dusk the boats will form into a regatta and slowly cruise along the lake shore perimeter.

At the conclusion of the parade a fireworks display begins. Fireworks are fired from all around the lake shore.

This fourth was a great night to be at Twin Lakes. It was a clear evening with a full moon serving as a backdrop for much of the fireworks.

While a photographer may have a steady hand, a camera with a stabilizer,  or a sturdy tri-pod, the boats do not have any stabilizing devices. Thus, photos that are not quite as clear as we might want.
