White Pine Celebrates Nation's Birthday - Heartland Style
White Pine - July 4, 2009
Once again White Pine residents and visitors were treated to an
Independence Day party "Heartland Style". The day began with a
parade that started at the Fire Hall and made its way to the
American Legion Hall on the north side of town. An afternoon of fun
and games followed the parade.
At the Legion softball field old
fashion games and amusements were available for kids of all ages.
Later in the day the nation's birthday party moved cross town to the
Konteka. Then at dusk the Fourth of July Fireworks display would
take place. For a small town, White Pine puts on a "large" fireworks
show, comparable to those usually seen in much larger
communities.
