Suomi Kutsuu Celebrates 48 Years

L’ANSE - The American legion Clubroom in L’Anse was the scene of Suomi Kutsuu’s 48th Anniversary Dance this past Saturday.

Finlanders from the Western U.P. gathered in L’Anse to celebrate with Carl Pellonpaa, host of WLUC TV6 show “Finland Calling”.

As usual at Karl’s events, there was plenty of music and dancing. The event started at noon with music by Pasi Lautala’s band “Pasicats”.

During the intermissions Karl drew tickets for the many door prizes that were given away to audience members.

As might be expected a large group of Finn’s from the Gogebic-Iron area traveled to L’Anse for the celebration. It was a beautiful U.P spring day, highly appropriate for this great milestone.

The Finland Calling 48th Anniversary Celebration continued Sunday at the Ishpeming Elks Lodge. At that event the music was performed by Richie Yurkovich and Friends.

Carl told us that he has a lot of activities planned for this summer.
