Fundraiser at Black Bear Lanes

WHITE PINE - Saturday, bowlers gathered at the Konteka Black Bear Lanes in a day of fund raising for Cancer Research. Each year the members of the Black Bear Men's and Ladies League cap of their winter bowling with a great day for Cancer Research. Lot's of Munchies from the Konteka restaurant along with door prizes, a 50/50 and "silent auction" all contributed to a great day "Bowling for the Cure". Saturday's power failures caused delays in the bowling and have prevented us from getting an actual total for the fundraiser. However, during the bowling season both leagues held fifty-fifty raffles on bowling night. Their effort alone raised $3,000 for "The Cure". We have been told that the total amount raised will be in excess of $6,000. What a great way to raise money for a great cause!
