The Bessemer Parade had plenty of floats and
familiar characters. The Forestry Service had two trucks in the
parade, one with Smokey on board and the other carrying Woodsy
the Owl. There was a great float entered by the Postal Service.
Another good looking float in the parade was
entered by the Friends of the Miners Park. Two former miners
were on the float which replicated a mine head.
