2010 Flu Clinic at GCC

IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP - The GCC Lindquist Center was home court for the Community Flu-Clinic this Saturday. As surely the trees show off their fall beauty it is just as assuredly the onset of Flu season. Time to get immunized and our local health care providers are ready willing and able to help protect us against the Flu Bug.

Through the collaborative effort of the Iron County Health Services, Grandview Health Care Systems and the Western U.P. Health Department local residents are able to get their Flu Shots both effortlessly and inexpensively. Shots were only $25. and free to Medicare and Medicaid members.

There was a drive up unit located at the Solin Center for those people who chose to avail themselves of this great service.

Last year over eleven hundred people received their shot and expectations were for an even larger turnout this year. The clinic was to open at ten o’clock, however, people started showing up an hour earlier and the clinic was opened at 9:00 AM to accommodate the early birds.

The young ladies above were there to direct you to the proper place and to give you the paperwork. Actually the paperwork was very minimal. This is a streamlined event!

There were more than enough volunteers and health care workers that waiting in line was no problem at all.
