IRONWOOD - The Gogebic – Iron County Wastewater Authority has
selected an engineering company to move the Capital Improvements
Project to its next step.
Selected from the three firms offering proposals, was C2AE and MSA
Engineers, that combined there individual expertise to make a
proposal and bid on the project. The focus of the firms will be to
analyze the CIP and to determine what type of funding will best suit
the project and then to pursue all avenues of potential funding. The
current improvements are expected to 5 million dollars. Phase 1-
will include reviewing the project and select the items in the CIP
that will can best be accomplished on the $5,000,000 budget and find
funding that will have the least impact on user rates. Under Phase 2
the firms will go forward and make application(s) for the funding.
Representing C2AE was Randy Scot, P.E. who is headquartered in the
firms Escanaba Office. C2AE has a history of Wastewater projects.
The firms Home Office is in Lansing.
Gilbert Hantzsch, P.E. represents MSA Professional Services. MSA is
the engineering firm currently working on the Hurley water projects.
MSA comes on board to help find Wisconsin sources of funding, if any
exist for the Michigan based treatment plant.
Other firms bidding on the project was Coleman Engineering and U.P.
Engineers. |
