IRONWOOD - The first annual Klassic Kruisers -
Knights of Columbus harvest dance took place Saturday evening.
Those patronizing the joint fundraiser had their choice of
dinner or dance or both. The combination ticket for both dinner
and dance was only twelve bucks. It was without a doubt the
entertainment bargain of the year.
The evening began with an Italian Dinner; very
large and very good! There was spaghetti, ravioli with red sauce
and ravioli with butter and garlic sauce. You could make up any
combo that satisfied your taste buds the most. There were sides
of beans, and a salad, a slice of cake, a beverage and of course
Italian bread. Meals were available for take out but sticking
around and enjoying the social time was a plus. After the
dinners the was a barn dance with music by an absolutely
terrific band from Ashland, the "Strange Cru".
They were great; playing classic rock from the
50's to the 70's. They didn't sound strange to me, unlike the
music I hear today on the radio. Others at KC Hall must have
felt the same way I did as there were plenty dancing going on.
Have you ever noticed when a slow song is playing how all the
guys get out on the dance floor? They stay glued to their
seats when the fast stuff is playing!
Four of the Cru's members share the singing
leads; and each is well chosen for their performance. The result
was a night of great music. We hope to see more of this group in
the future.
This was the first KK-KC Harvest Dinner and
Dance.
Proceeds from this event will be split between the Kruisers and the
KC’s and will go to further each group’s community support
activities. The Kruisers are using this event as the kick-off fund
raiser for their 20th anniversary celebration activities planned for
2011.
