IRONWOOD - With winter approaching, Coleman Engineering and Overstar
Construction have decided to call it a wrap on the Jessieville
Water/Sewer projects. Phase one got off to a late start however,
rain and poor weather conditions were blamed for the delays in the
project. The delays are making many taxpayers unhappy as well as
concerned as to how they with traverse the construction zone during
the long cold winter looming ahead.
The informational meeting held in the City Council Chambers was
called to alleviate the homeowners concerns and answer any questions
that they had pertaining to the unfinished work in their
neighborhood.
Mike Foley from Coleman Engineering answered as many questions as
feasible and noted the remaining questions for investigation.
Generally speaking, most concerns were already being addressed at
the job site. While work will be shut down for the winter, work will
continue until the roads are safe and homeowners can get in and out
of their driveways. It appeared that most of those gathered for the
meeting were fairly satisfied with what they were being told.
Unlike most City meetings, this one was fairly well attended. Just a
week ago there was an informational meeting on the downtown
improvement projects; the attendance was so poor it seemed as though
the downtown merchants were boycotting that meeting! |
