Honoring Veterans at Ewen -Trout Creek School

The Ewen Trout Creek School held its Veterans Day Program yesterday in the High School gymnasium.

The E-TC Program began with a welcome message from Lacey Kaare, the Student Council President. Following Lacey the Jr./Sr. School Choir sang the National Anthem The Kindergarten then recited the Pledge of Allegiance and then sang “Veteran’s Day” and “Veterans: We Thank You”. The Kindergarten students were then followed by the First Graders, who performed “Take A Moment To Thank a Veteran”, “The American Way” and “Oh Veterans”. Fifth Graders: Steffanie Berndt, jasmine La Plant, Mason Gustafson, Garrett Williams and Lexi Voight did interviews with Veterans.

The second and third graders performed the “ABC’s of Veterans”
The High School Band played “Armed Services Salute” and “God Bless the USA” and was followed by the Elementary School students who then sang “This Land Is Your Land”
 
Then the 2nd through 5th grade children sang "Thank you Soldiers" and there performance was accompanied by a slide show of all the service men and women's pictures was shown on the gym wall......very emotional and it received a standing ovation.

The program then ended with the traditional playing of ”Taps” performed by Taylor Niemi and Jessica LaPlant.

Following the Veterans Day Program everyone was invited to a Turkey Dinner that was served in the Cafetorium.

The walls of the school building are always covered with student art and inspirational messages; today photographs of area veterans joined the art work.

E-TC the little School that not only could, but does; a small district but one with great big accomplishments.
