Bessemer Washington School Students Spread Christmas Cheer

BESSEMER - The students and faculty of Bessemer's Washington School presented their annual Christmas Concert this past Friday. As usual the students under the direction of
L.J. Roderick, the did a fantastic job. Music Director Roderick always has his students ready for a great performance. As is usual at Washington School, the gymnasium was packed with family and friends. By show time it was standing room only.

The day's entertainment began with solo performances that were then followed by  performances by students in each grade. The program included youngsters from pre-k and great start and finished with a great finale by the sixth grade singers.

Traditionally there are solo performances prior to the start of the regular school concert, this year would not be an exception. There were solo performances by seven Washington School students.

 

Vivan Pavlovich a second grade student played a guitar solo All Mixed up

 

Bethany Novascone a third grade Guitarst played Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

 

Third grade student, Kathryn Rand played a Piano solo Jolly Old St. Nicholas

 

Ericka Facchinello, also a third grader played a piano solo Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town

 

Vai Triggiano a third grade student played a piano solo Colors of the Wind-Merken.

 

Nick Trudgeon, a third grade musician played a piano solo Enchanted City

 

Vilinist Lilly Wieringa a sixth grade student, played a solo Minuet

 

 

The Christmas Concert began with the students in the Prep-Kindergarten and Great Start Readiness Program, performing:  I Like Thanksgiving and Jingle, Jingle, Jingle Bells
 

The Kindergarten students performed two songs: Gingerbread Cookies and Listen to the Jingles

 

The First Grade students sang The Rhythm of the Season and Christmas Celebration

Second Grade students sang  Light the Bright  Kinarha and A Nice, Nice Christmas

 Performing next was the third grade students; they sang Peaceful Night and La Navida
 
Fourth Grade singers performed Do You Hear  and Snowman Choir

Fifth Grade Class sang  Frosty the Snowman and A Silly Holiday Song

Last to perform were the sixth grade students rockin' the house, as is customary, perfoming:
