IRONWOOD - In an exciting high scoring game,
the Polar Bear Midgets defeated the Escanaba Hawks Saturday at
the Pat O'Donnell Civic Center. The score at the final buzzer was 10-2. The
game had nearly as many penalties as there were goals.
The game was played almost entirely in front of the Escanaba
Goalie. Within three minutes of the start of the game the score
was 2-1 Ironwood.
After leading 5-1 at the end of the
second Ironwood score five more goals in the third. Escanaba
scored on goal on a 5-3 power-play. The final score Ironwood 10,
Escanaba 2.
