The Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District Board
of Trustees has selected Jan Massie to be the District’s
new Professional Development Coordinator
Massie will replace Joy Maki, who has retired.
Massie has been working as the District’s Literacy
Coordinator over the past nine years, on behalf of the
GOISD and local school districts.
The $500,000 reading program has been provided by the
ISD to local districts for the past two years.
The ISD received ARRA funds on behalf of the ISD and the
local school districts. The first half went to districts
to pay for some of their special education expenses and
the other half of the grant was used to pay towards the
reading program expenses. The ISD General Fund Budget
committed $200,000.00 towards the project as well.ore
