Spotlight on Ironwood Student

The Steel Bridge inter-collegiate challenge requires civil engineering students to design, fabricate and construct a steel bridge. American Institute of Steel Construction is the primary sponsor of the competition with American Society of Civil Engineers the primary co-sponsor. The 2011 National Student Steel Bridge Competition was held on May 20-21 at Texas A&M University. This year marked the 20th anniversary of the National Student Steel Bridge Competition and the 24th anniversary of the Conference Student Steel Bridge Competitions. This prestigious competition offered future structural engineers the opportunity to display their skills in steel design, steel fabrication, and teamwork.

Joel is currently doing an internship with William Kibbe Engineering firm from Saginaw, MI and plans to pursue his masters degree in engineering.
