IRONWOOD - June 14, 2011
Last night the City of Ironwood approved a labor
contract with Ironwood Employees’ Local #1538,
Affiliated with Michigan Council #25. AFSCME, AFL-CIO.
The City Commission went into Special Session to
discuss the agreement and then returned to open session
and approved the one year contract.
The new contract modifies Group Health Insurance
Benefits by increasing Deductibles to $5,000 for single
coverage and $10,000 for two person or family coverage,
with the City paying the first $4,000 for single
coverage and the first $8,000 for two-person and family
coverage.
A prescription drug rider will be a triple tier $10
generic/$40 formulary/$80 non-formulary, with the City
reimbursing per the Agreement.
The agreement will be in effect until midnight, June
30, 2012.
If either party desires to amend and/or terminate the
agreement, it must provide the other party sixty days
notice.
In the event that neither the City nor the Union
gives notice then the agreement shall continue in full
force and effect from year to year thereafter, subject
to notice of amendment or termination.
