The Spring Valley Ranch Junior Horsemen’s Club held a
charity horse show Saturday that was held at the Gogebic
County Fairgrounds in Ironwood
Saturday’s show was open to all age riders and all
breeds of horses. There will be classes for horses under
halter, English style riding, western riding and timed
speed events. In all competitors would be judged in 57
classes occurring during the daylong event.
IRONWOOD – The Spring Valley Ranch Junior Horsemen’s
Club held a charity horse show Saturday that was held at
the Gogebic County Fairgrounds in Ironwood
Saturday’s show was open to all age riders and all
breeds of horses. There will be classes for horses under
halter, English style riding, western riding and timed
speed events. In all competitors would be judged in 57
classes occurring during the daylong event.
This was the second consecutive year a charity horse
show was be held in the Ironwood area. Last year ‘s
charity show raised nearly $750 to benefit the Gogebic
Community College Scholarship Foundation. The charities
for the 2011 event will again be GCC Scholarship
Foundation , plus the U.P. Equifest , a non-profit
educational and competitive horse expo held each
September in Escanaba, MI.
The many talented riders and their beautiful horses were
judged by long time professional horseman and retired
University of Wisconsin - River Falls Equine Professor,
Mr. Larry Kasten, of River Falls, WI.
