2011 Old Depot Car Show

Saturday the 23^rd Old Depot Car Show attracted a large crowd of spectator’s eager to view the sixty-three great vehicles that made up the annual event.

This year Rick Tippett and his staff organized and produced Saturday’s great event. Rick and his many helpers did a really good job producing their first show ever. Rick found out how much work goes occurs on the other side of the event. This year instead of collecting more trophies for his own custom cars he was handing them out. In fact Rick and his wife, Sue donated a new first time ever trophy “Kid’s Choice” The winner is chosen by the kids casting their ballots for their favorite vehicle.

The winner of the inaugural Kid’s Choice Trophy was Duke Thompson from Eau Claire Wisconsin for his 1950 Mercury Chopped Custom “Misty Blue “

Thompson would go to the podium four times Saturday. Mist Blue also won Best of Show, Best in Class Street Machines, and his tricked our 2005 RS Custom Chopper won the Best in Class for Motorcycles.

At six o’clock many of the show cars were joined by other area classics to cruise to the Memorial Building. From there the cars returned along Aurora and continued to Hurley.

Polar Bear Cookbook
