The Gogebic Range
Concert Band performed at Massie Field Tuesday night. A
large audience gathered before the band shell to hear
the musicians play their wonderful songs. The GRCB
band had performed in Marenisco just a few days prior to
their Bessemer concert. Tuesday’s audience was
significantly larger than the performances at Longyear
Park in Ironwood. The acoustics of the band shell
at Massie is excellent. You could enjoy the music
outside the field as many spectators chose to do. Parked
outside the fence were many music fans sitting in their
lawn chairs as well as their automobiles.
Just a hundred yards away from the stage several Junior
Varsity football players held a skills session while
listening to the music. Perhaps it was the great music
that aided in their excellent practice!
The GRCB returns to Longyear Park August 9th and will
close out the summer season August 23rd with a show that
will include a Klassic Kruisers car show. A night of hot
cars and hot music; who could ask for anything more?
