|IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP - August 31, 2011
Preliminary enrollment figures were given by Dean of
Students Jeanne Graham. “As of today, it appears that
our headcount is down four percent and our credit hours
are down by 6.4% percent,” said Graham. “As we budgeted
for a five percent decrease in both headcount and
credit, this is right on target for our projections for
the year.” As registration activity continues for the
next several weeks, a final enrollment report will be
given in October.
President Jim Lorenson announced that due to continued
low enrollment in the Early Childhood Education program
on the Ironwood campus, GCC would suspend the program
for an interim period after this year on campus. The
program, which is also offered at GCC’s Copper Country
Center, will continue to be offered in that area and the
program will be developed further because of the strong
interest and higher enrollments.
