The Family Fun Park is the site of two very
popular Contests; The Wife Carrying Contest and The Boot Throwing Contest.
The wife carrying contest begins with the Finnish husband carrying his
wife to stop number one, where the wife unrolls three rag rugs onto the
floor. From there the husband again carries his wife to stop two, the
sauna. Here the husband must slap his wife three time on the back with a
vista. She then swats him on the back with the cedar bough. The Husband
must place three scoops of water on the fire stones. Then, once more the
husband carries his wife, this time to the kitchen. In the kitchen the
wife makes coffee and serves to her husband and guests. They drink the
coffee. Then for the final time the husband carries his wife, this time to
finish line, or is Finnish Line(?)
The Boot throwing contest is straight up. You throw two boots as far as
you can. The boot traveling the furthest distance is counted for the
contests. There are three divisions, Children, Women and Men's divisions
